SU! Paper Pumpkin Christmas

Welcome back.

With Christmas approaching, I looked at my previously made Christmas cards and found there weren't many cards left. I used to go to various card-making classes and had accumulated lots of cards, Christmas and otherwise, but since I've moved, I haven't been to any classes. Then, I noticed all the unmade SU! Paper Pumpkin kits I have and decided to make all the Christmas kits.  Some were kits for treat bags and had to be adapted. It's interesting how adapting kits takes so very much longer. I follow one of the Paper Pumpkin alternatives facebook groups and marvel at the creativity, but that's usually not what I like to do. I buy the kits for the days I want to be crafty but not think too much. 😁

So here is what I've made ...

October 2023 Home For The Holidays - These are adorable "as-is" so I didn't do any modifications.

November 2023 Warm Wishes - These are treat boxes. I cut the boxes into two houses, giving me twice as many cards.  I used coordinating cardstock, Blueberry Bushel & Mossy Meadow, for the card bases and ink blended a night sky with splattered white paint for snow.  The box sides are so large, the base and ink-blending are barely visible. I ink-blended gray beneath the houses but that faded into the dark-colored bases so I used the included glitter glue on the bottom to ground the houses.

October 2024 Nests of Christmas - These are adorable "as-is" so I didn't do any modifications.

November 2024 Filled With Love - These are fabric treat bags. I decided to use vanilla cardstock to create stocking shaped cards as the base. I just made the tags from the kit "as-is" and attached them to the shaped bases.

October 2025 Cozy Christmas - These are adorable "as-is" so I didn't do any modifications.

November 2025 Wrapped In Cheer - These are treat boxes so I had to do a bit of modification but the boxes had the cutest gingham print on them so I cut the boxes into pieces and used the material as the background on a whisper white card base.  I made the tags exactly as they were intended and glued them to the card.  Easy Peesy!

Thanks for popping by.  Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Magical Unicorn See-Thru Shaker

Here's another cute card for one of my "littles" ... My grandniece turned 2 this year.  I wanted to make her a card with a simple interactive element and shaker cards are the best for that, in my humble opinion ... nothing to move that could tear up the card. 😂  I also wanted to stretch my crafting skills a bit and step it up from normal shaker cards so I decided on making a see-thru shaker.  With that decided, I went to my handy dandy stash of saved and unused Freshly Made Sketches designs and picked #FMS358 .  Next, I looked through the splitcoaststampers.com past color challenges for a "girly" color combo and chose #CC1004 .  Lastly, I looked through my Big Book of Stamps and found the rarely used SSS Magical Birthday set ... I actually think I used this stamp set to dress up the brown wrapping paper on her present last year, hmmm, theme? BTW , my handmade card related hobbies are BUYING stamps and dies, ORGANIZING stamps and dies and USING stamps and dies....

Cheerful Gingy Birthday

Good evening!  I'm so glad you've visited.      My younger sister and I have a common love of gingerbread girls and boys.  I have often commented to her how I wish you'd see them year-round representing more holidays and seasons.  With that though in mind immediately after the Christmas season, I decided to make my sister a non-Christmas gingerbread card.  I started with the  Freshly Made Sketches  design #FMS364 and went from there.  I chose the colors based on the SU! DSP Cherry On Top, concentrating on the red color since red is my sister's favorite color.  In addition to what you can see in the photo, the gingy girl's body swings from side to side, as if dancing, AND there's a confetti flinger inside!     I had so much fun making this cheerful birthday card.  I hope you enjoyed it too. Blogging Once Again - Acorny Thanksgiving

Hello again. It's been quite some time since I've created a post here without backdating it, hee hee.  I thought I'd try to get back to it.  I've not posted much ever because I don't think anyone reads it but at least I have this place to capture my thoughts and activities. My husband, dog and I are settling into our new home in Northwoods Wisconsin.  It has taken so very much longer than I ever imagined to unpack, sort, fix things up and make them work for us.  We're getting closer but there's still a lot to do.  I'm trying to squeeze creating and crafting in between house stuff and my full time job.  I'm very blessed to be able to work from home so no complaints there.  No more 40 min commute each way, every day.  Yay! I've continued crafting, just not blogging about it.  For my creative outlet, I've been primarily making handmade greeting cards.  My stash of stamps and dies and designer pattern paper has continued to grow.  😊 Si...
