Pre-Teen Boy Magic Slider Birthday

Happy Winter! My grandson is turning 12 this year.  Boys' cards are difficult for me and since he's older, I didn't think a cutesy card would do. I did a pinterest search for "teen boy handmade card" and was reminded of the SU! stamp set I used here. Perfect! My step-daughter recently bought the interactive Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider dies for my birthday so I thought this would be the perfect time to try using them. I watched a Lawn Fawn YouTube video on how to create the interactive element and then I was off to creating. Their videos are so detailed and well made. I love them! Since the images need to be stamped twice in the same orientation, I put the two stamps, headphones and sneakers, in my MISTI on opposite sides. I cut a piece of acetate and a piece of white cardstock to the same size and stamped the earphone image on both pieces. I masked the earphones, flipped the MISTI and stamped the sneakers on both pieces. I then masked the sneakers on the white pi...

SU! Paper Pumpkin Christmas

Welcome back.   With Christmas approaching, I looked at my previously made Christmas cards and found there weren't many cards left. I used to go to various card-making classes and had accumulated lots of cards, Christmas and otherwise, but since I've moved, I haven't been to any classes. Then, I noticed all the unmade SU! Paper Pumpkin kits I have and decided to make all the Christmas kits.  Some were kits for treat bags and had to be adapted. It's interesting how adapting kits takes so very much longer. I follow one of the Paper Pumpkin alternatives facebook groups and marvel at the creativity, but that's usually not what I like to do. I buy the kits for the days I want to be crafty but not think too much. 😁 So here is what I've made ... October 2023 Home For The Holidays  -  These are adorable "as-is" so I didn't do any modifications. November 2023 Warm Wishes - These are treat boxes. I cut the boxes into two houses, giving me twice as many card...

Dragon Boat Tent ... not a card

Not a card ... Good Day! I recently was part of a Dragon Boat team and was asked for tent decoration ideas.  I found a really neat Facebook page (which is gone now) with previously decorated tents.  The entrance of one of the tent was decorated with two columns and a header containing Chinese symbols.  With that general design in mind, I thought two evergreens with a canoe as a header would work for our "Off In The Woods ..." tent.  Then, my husband said "wouldn't it be neat if the ceiling of the tent was covered in the Northern Lights?"  So, thinking cap on, I bought three black fabric panels and some bright pastel colored spray paints and created that as well.  I think it turned out pretty good.  Our captain bought the outdoor scene panel for the back wall and this is what we ended up with.  Unfortunately, the ceiling could only be seen if you were inside the tent and looked up.  If I knew that ahead of time, I would have skipped the Northe...

Flippin' Awesome Princess Birthday

Good day! This was a fun and easy card to make.  For my grandniece's birthday, I wanted to make an interactive birthday card with a princess.  I decided to pair Magical Dragons and Flippin' Awesome to create this storybook card.  The story, which hopefully comes across, is the Princess, Dragon and Knight are going to her birthday party. This stamp set is adorable and, as I was using it, I thought of so many fun ways to use it in the future. The pattern paper is so fun and bright. I was sorry to hear My Favorite Things is "going out of business". They made really cute stamps that were my cutesy style. I'll miss them. The Flippin' Awesome interactive element was so easy to use.  I love all the Lawn Fawn interactive dies I've tried so far.  Since my grandniece is only 3, I'm hoping the mechanism is easy for her to use.  Sometimes, with the littles, I worry about them ripping the cards trying to get them to work.  😂 Thanks for dropping in. Pop-up Mice Birthday

Welcome back!  My granddaughter's 7th birthday is coming up so it's time to try another interactive card.  I decided to use my Lawn Fawn pop-up platform dies for the first time and some of their mouse stamps.  Last year I made her a card with mice so this continues that theme a little and the mice are so very super cute.  I love how so many of the Lawn Fawn mouse sets are the same size and you can mix-n-match them! CASE'd  Birthday Mouse Party  for the general scene idea.  For the mouse flying over on a paper airplane, I attached it to a tiny strip of acetate.  The platform itself was pretty easy to assemble but I could have done better getting the most use out of the cardstock. I think I got a bit over zealous with the mice and extras and made the card too busy but it's still cute! Thanks for poppin' by. Northwoods Summer Thank You's

I needed a few Thank You cards on hand for our neighbors here in the Wisconsin Northwoods.  I've used this Thanks die with its shadow on a lot of cards now.  I really like the way it fits on an A2 card, whether landscape or portrait. I looked through my pattern paper and ephemera stash for summer and woodsy things.  These are what I came up with.  Some ephemera still needed to be colored and I'm loving those sunflowers from Gina K Designs!  I'll have to use those again. Silly Goose Birthday

I created this card for my grandnephew's 1st Silly Goose birthday.  I love this stamp and have used it a few times.  I matched it with  Freshly Made Sketches  #368 and used the colors in the DSP to determine the color palette for this fun boy's card. This was a fun and easy card that relies mostly on the design.  Thanks Freshly Made Sketches.  😀 Thanks for poppin' in!  Have a wonderful day. Card Recipe Stamps:   SU! Heartland, SU!
