My grandniece's 1st birthday is coming up. Sometimes I know the birthday party theme and when I do, I try to match the birthday card to the theme but I have no idea this time. It's all good ... the butterflies on this inspiration card , Birthday Butterflies, are adorable so I decided to CASE it. AND, while I was at it, I went ahead and made another general birthday card with the same design, sans birthday year. 😁 I picked two Stampin Up! DSPs with non-distracting patterns and made the butterflies in colors to match. After cutting out the butterflies, I ran them through an embossing folder to give them a little texture and then scored them around the body to allow the wings to fold up. For the birthday year, I cut the number One from all four colors and stacked them a little off center for a shadow-like look.
These cards were a lot of fun and I think they turned out great. Very Spring-like, now, if only the weather here in Northwoods Wisconsin would act like Spring, I'd be happy. I'm ready for Winter to be done.
Thanks for popping in!
