Dino Shaker

A "littles" birthday ...

My grandnephew turned 3 this year.  I was told his two favorite things were dinosaurs and construction trucks.  For his present, I bought some construction toys so, that left me with dinosaurs for the card.  Fortunately, my adult daughter also loves dinosaurs and when I see dinosaur stamps and dies, I usually buy them. 😂

I try to make an interactive card for each littles birthday but at 3 years old, moving parts get torn, so a shaker is the best option. I had previously saved a dinosaur birthday card pin and decided to CASE that card.  I wish I could find my inspiration card to link here but I forgot to save it. 😞

It was a fun card to make except I forgot to get rid of the static on the acetate so the shaker bits got kind of stuck.  Oops.

I hope you enjoy this card and have a good day.

Magical Unicorn See-Thru Shaker

Here's another cute card for one of my "littles" ... My grandniece turned 2 this year.  I wanted to make her a card with a simple interactive element and shaker cards are the best for that, in my humble opinion ... nothing to move that could tear up the card. 😂  I also wanted to stretch my crafting skills a bit and step it up from normal shaker cards so I decided on making a see-thru shaker.  With that decided, I went to my handy dandy stash of saved and unused Freshly Made Sketches designs and picked #FMS358 .  Next, I looked through the splitcoaststampers.com past color challenges for a "girly" color combo and chose #CC1004 .  Lastly, I looked through my Big Book of Stamps and found the rarely used SSS Magical Birthday set ... I actually think I used this stamp set to dress up the brown wrapping paper on her present last year, hmmm, theme? BTW , my handmade card related hobbies are BUYING stamps and dies, ORGANIZING stamps and dies and USING stamps and dies....

Cheerful Gingy Birthday

Good evening!  I'm so glad you've visited.      My younger sister and I have a common love of gingerbread girls and boys.  I have often commented to her how I wish you'd see them year-round representing more holidays and seasons.  With that though in mind immediately after the Christmas season, I decided to make my sister a non-Christmas gingerbread card.  I started with the  Freshly Made Sketches  design #FMS364 and went from there.  I chose the colors based on the SU! DSP Cherry On Top, concentrating on the red color since red is my sister's favorite color.  In addition to what you can see in the photo, the gingy girl's body swings from side to side, as if dancing, AND there's a confetti flinger inside!     I had so much fun making this cheerful birthday card.  I hope you enjoyed it too. Blogging Once Again - Acorny Thanksgiving

Hello again. It's been quite some time since I've created a post here without backdating it, hee hee.  I thought I'd try to get back to it.  I've not posted much ever because I don't think anyone reads it but at least I have this place to capture my thoughts and activities. My husband, dog and I are settling into our new home in Northwoods Wisconsin.  It has taken so very much longer than I ever imagined to unpack, sort, fix things up and make them work for us.  We're getting closer but there's still a lot to do.  I'm trying to squeeze creating and crafting in between house stuff and my full time job.  I'm very blessed to be able to work from home so no complaints there.  No more 40 min commute each way, every day.  Yay! I've continued crafting, just not blogging about it.  For my creative outlet, I've been primarily making handmade greeting cards.  My stash of stamps and dies and designer pattern paper has continued to grow.  😊 Si...
