Pop-up Mice Birthday

Welcome back!  My granddaughter's 7th birthday is coming up so it's time to try another interactive card.  I decided to use my Lawn Fawn pop-up platform dies for the first time and some of their mouse stamps.  Last year I made her a card with mice so this continues that theme a little and the mice are so very super cute.  I love how so many of the Lawn Fawn mouse sets are the same size and you can mix-n-match them! CASE'd  Birthday Mouse Party  for the general scene idea.  For the mouse flying over on a paper airplane, I attached it to a tiny strip of acetate.  The platform itself was pretty easy to assemble but I could have done better getting the most use out of the cardstock. I think I got a bit over zealous with the mice and extras and made the card too busy but it's still cute! Thanks for poppin' by. Northwoods Summer Thank You's

I needed a few Thank You cards on hand for our neighbors here in the Wisconsin Northwoods.  I've used this Thanks die with its shadow on a lot of cards now.  I really like the way it fits on an A2 card, whether landscape or portrait. I looked through my pattern paper and ephemera stash for summer and woodsy things.  These are what I came up with.  Some ephemera still needed to be colored and I'm loving those sunflowers from Gina K Designs!  I'll have to use those again. Silly Goose Birthday

I created this card for my grandnephew's 1st Silly Goose birthday.  I love this stamp and have used it a few times.  I matched it with  Freshly Made Sketches  #368 and used the colors in the DSP to determine the color palette for this fun boy's card. This was a fun and easy card that relies mostly on the design.  Thanks Freshly Made Sketches.  😀 Thanks for poppin' in!  Have a wonderful day. Card Recipe Stamps:   SU! Heartland, SU! Spring May Flowers

Not a card or paper .... Happy Spring & May Day! My family has the tradition of making and distributing baskets of candy to the neighbors for May Day.  While I'm not making the candy baskets this year, I offered to make Spring decorations for the neighborhood sign posts. I found a great wooden cutout company, Woodpeckers Crafts , that delivered 20 flowers, 10 tulips & 10 daisies, within a few days.  I used my existing outdoor acrylic paints, masking tape and wipees to quickly paint the flowers as colorful Tulips and Gerbera Daisies.  I used a drill press to drill a hole in the tops of the flowers for a metal ring and covered the flowers with Outdoor Mod Podge to protect the wood and paint from the weather. This was a lot of fun, didn't take too long and was a nice break from my normal handmade card crafts.  My next painting project will be cutouts for the 4th of July.   Thanks for poppin' by! The end product.  Painted, shellacked and ready to h...

Star Wars Surprise

My grandson's 9th birthday is coming up and I wanted to be careful not to make too young of a birthday card for him.  I bought some Star Wars-like clipart and decided to pair that with the Magic Picture Changer dies I hadn't used yet.  This card was a lot of fun to make.  I had to do some masking which isn't my favorite but it wasn't horrible once the fussy cutting was done.  😁   I then let the colors in the pattern paper dictate the colors of the balloons. It looks so fun and festive!! I hope this card brings a smile to your face. Thanks for poppin' by! Card Recipe Stamps:  cutestclipart Space Wars, SU! 1st Birthday Butterflies

My grandniece's 1st birthday is coming up.   Sometimes I know the birthday party theme and when I do, I try to match the birthday card to the theme but I have no idea this time.  It's all good ... the butterflies on this inspiration card  ,  Birthday Butterflies , a re adorable so I  decided to CASE it.   AND, while I was at it, I went ahead and made another general birthday card with the same design, sans birthday year. 😁  I picked two Stampin Up! DSPs with non-distracting patterns and made the butterflies in colors to match.  After cutting out the butterflies, I ran them through an embossing folder to give them a little texture and then scored them around the body to allow the wings to fold up.  For the birthday year, I cut the number One from all four colors and stacked them a little off center for a shadow-like look. These cards were a lot of fun and I think they turned out great.  Very Spring-like, now, if only the weathe...

Easter Cross card

Good day! I often have conflicting thoughts on the theme of  Easter cards for my family and friends because some of my friends are not Christians and I don't want to throw Jesus in their faces.  In the past, this usually resulted in making two Easter cards, one religious and one not.  This year though, I'm making ONE Easter card for all, and, since last year's Easter card had a bunny, this year's will be religious.  😀😊😇 I looked through my pinterest pins from years ago and found this one,  Cross of Hope .  I decided to CASE it but use primarily purple and yellow.  I also chose to incorporate the  Freshly Made Sketches  design #369 into this card while using up some of my older 6x6 pattern paper.  A win-win all around!  I made the lamb on the inside pop-up for a bit more interest. I think the end result turned out very nicely.  I hope you like it as well. Thanks for popping in and Happy Easter! Card Recipe Stamps:  SU! E...
